MUDEC - Museo delle Culture di Milano
Cultural design
Creative direction and architectural design of the new permanent exhibition of the MUDEC - Museo delle Culture ia Milano - following the direct award of the Milan City Council. The permanent exhibition of the MUDEC is divided into 5 rooms where a selection of objects from our collections from America, Africa, Asia and Oceania are displayed.
The current exhibition ‘Global Milan. The world seen from here' addresses the theme of globalisation by investigating Milan's relations with the rest of the world.
It will be inaugurated in 2021 with the addition of new works and the creation of a space dedicated to temporary audio-visual installations, but above all by finalising the project to make the collection more accessible, an engagement also by the younger target group more proactive, after the evident creation of display cases by the architect Chipperfield in wood, which were too heavy and not designed for a light and manageable solution and optimal fruition.
In addition, objects that have recently become part of the museum's collections find space in the curved showcases of the agora to form the ‘Donor Gallery’.
